You Are Not Broken, You Are Becoming

When we talk about healing, especially around trauma, it’s easy to slip into the language of “fixing” ourselves. But here’s the truth: you are not broken. You are not a problem to be solved. You are whole, radiant, and deeply connected to the divine essence that has always lived within you. Just as yoga teaches us that the body is a temple housing the indwelling Self, holistic healing is about remembering what’s already there—your own sacred wholeness. Sometimes that light feels hidden beneath layers of survival strategies, old beliefs, and habits that once kept us safe but no longer serve us. The journey isn’t about tearing yourself apart but more about gently brushing away what’s covering your brilliance.
This path is less about effort and more about connection. Affirmations, breathwork, mindful movement—these are not tools to “fix” but invitations to lighten. To soften. To reconnect with the flow of your own truth so you can move through your day with more ease, joy, and presence. And it’s not only for those who identify with having trauma. Every one of us carries something, tension in the body, an anxious loop of thought, an old story that keeps us small. Releasing even a little of that creates space for more vitality, more peace, more you.
I had the opportunity to explore these themes recently on Dawson Church’s podcast, where I shared my story and purpose in this work and why addiction is truly a family disease. We talked about how questioning our thoughts opens the door to compassion, and how holding space when needs don’t align can deepen connection. We also touched on the power of the Gayatri Mantra to bring light and clarity, the importance of finding ways to lighten up in the face of challenges, and the role of emotional triggers and everyday “glimmers” of hope. Our conversation highlighted the practices of self-care and boundaries, how to respond when adverse behaviors appear in loved ones, the use of “I statement” to maintain understanding, and the courage it takes to walk beside those we love without trying to fix or change them.
These are the practices and perspectives that keep us anchored in wholeness. They remind us that healing is not about changing who we are—it’s about coming home to ourselves.
This month, I’m honored to share two offerings that align with this vision: my upcoming Book Talk and a Crown Chakra Embodiment Workshop. Both are designed to guide you back to your own knowing, your own inner sanctuary. Because healing is about connection, presence, and love—never about fixing.
May we know the bliss of finding our true selves.
Namaste,
Jackie
